Fo the Dog, Blue Majolica Censer
The censer in the shape of a standing Chinese dog (lion) was created in the Majolica Manufactory of Prince Michał Piotr Radziwiłł around 1881. It was designed as a vessel for conical incense, in which the movable head serves as a cover. The replica produced today is made in exactly the same way as over 130 years ago. The faience mass is hand-formed in a plaster mold and decorated with majolica paint on tin glaze.
